How Young Creativity Adapts
Ask enough employers and they will tell you, “The secret to a successful career is learning how to adapt.” With an industry shaped by new technologies, ideas, and mediums, companies heavily value students who can quickly adapt to their surroundings. More often than not, you will find companies and recruiters that want students who can think on their feet, develop creative solutions, and communicate well with others, not just those in their specific field. But while there is a considerable amount of change in company expectations, there is a massive disconnect between what students experience in universities versus what they actually do in their first job out of college.
Located on the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) campus in north Los Angeles, IntersectLA was created to provide a solution to this higher-education problem. Born from two previous organizations, one focused on creativity and the other on business strategy, IntersectLA is a fresh take on how college should prepare students for their careers after graduation. Our intent was to disrupt the often-simulated classroom environments and departmental silos, and leverage the diverse student population to learn and work collaboratively. The result is a high-impact student enterprise that incubates talent, builds confidence, instills a sense of purpose, and provides financial resources to help students succeed, while in school and beyond.
Our mission at IntersectLA is to shape students to be more collaborative, skillful, and independent in their careers. Whether in business, art, design, psychology, engineering, or computer science, we give students the opportunities they need to excel long after they finish college.
Working with real clients, our organization integrates talented students who want to add value to businesses, organizations, and the community. We are the intersection of different fields coming together to design innovative solutions for today’s problems.
We are a creative strategy organization that gives students the opportunity to learn through experience — come and join us.
